Missouri Department of Transportation-St. Louis District Receives 2021 Agency Pavement Preservation

GLEN ELLYN, IL, February 23, 2021 – During the 59th Annual Convention of the International Slurry Surfacing Association (ISSA), held virtually, February 15-18, 2021, ISSA recognized the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT)- St. Louis District as the 2021 Agency Pavement Preservation & Sustainability Program Award winner. Established in 2020, the ISSA Agency Pavement Preservation & Sustainability Program Award recognizes agencies regionally who have been champions in the promotion, use, and success of pavement preservation applications represented by ISSA for 12 or more years, as part of their pavement network strategy to achieve enhanced pavement performance, reduce pavement life-cycle cost, use eco-friendly products, and/or maximize the use of limited budgets. MoDOT-St. Louis continues to be one of the most innovative DOTs using new paving technologies and project bidding strategies, increasing the amount of pavement preservation projects by restructuring how the district budgets roadway improvements, consistently researching new products by keeping up with the latest paving advancements and ensuring they are using proper applications yearly, while continuously updating their specifications and committing to quality control, ensuring minimal environmental impact on each project.
