Caltrans Highway 49 Auburn, CA. Caltrans Contract # 03-4M9604. The project scope included various treatments over 7 road miles of highway this included 2 lanes each direction, median, shoulders and turn pockets. The work scope included 3” asphalt dig-outs outs of over 93k sf of area, 50 signalized traffic loops, removal of all existing striping. Micro surfacing rut fill in various areas and the placement of Micro Surfacing using Type Three aggregate gradations (4,600 wet tons placed) and restriping using specialized – enhanced night time reflective thermo plastic paint upon completion. All work was performed at night. Project specifications included tolerances not to exceed 3” overlap on all traffic lines. Post picture is Highway 9 month after completion (80k ADT). All Micro Surfacing work was performed using the self-loading self-propelled micro paver. All traffic lanes were required to be opened by 6am. No late re- openings.
